Many large organisations now use Safecontractor as their primary means of selecting contractors. Safecontractor is effectively the clients approved contractor list.

NICEIC The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting is the industry's independent, non-profit, voluntary regulatory body covering the whole of the United Kingdom. The NICEIC's sole purpose is to protect consumers from unsafe and unsound electrical work, maintaining a Roll of Approved Contractors that are assessed every year to check that their work meets the national safety standard BS 7671 (the IEE Wiring Regulations) and other relevant technical standards.
